Experience Wellington wanted to create some merchandise with a GIRL POWER theme to sell for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023. These would be available at the six iconic Wellington experiences they offer: City Gallery Wellington, Capital E, Wellington Museum, Space Place at Carter Observatory, Nairn Street Cottage, and the Cable Car Museum.
The Challenge: To provide a well-chosen collection of merchandise that would be meaningful, colourful, be fun, and rousing to bring football together As One in 2023 to celebrate the women’s game.
The Result: A cute range of merchandise that projects the Girl Power with the messaging – “Wahine Miharo” (to wonder at, admire, marvellous, amazing) which was produced as Tees, in addition messaging with ‘’Girls Kick’’, ‘’I’ve got Goals’’ in a bright Notebook and pen series.
“Wahine Miharo”was also produced as a Limited-Edition NZ ACME ceramic cup and saucer designer set. These were in a beautiful baby pink glaze and black print inside the inner rim of the
cups. As well as small hand-held flags produced for fans and players alike to wave at the games with the various slogans to encourage and celebrate the women’s empowerment, independence,
confidence, and strength. Large Ceiling Banners were also produced that adorned the retail spaces while the event was running.
